My Collection of Quotes - HERE
I've known what I wanted to do since the 4th grade.
I grew-up in rural Maine with the radio as my companion.
Long before I ever peeked into a control room, I figured out that radio stations use format clocks, rotate songs and that morning drive could either make or break a radio station. I also figure out that what plays between the songs is what separates the winners from the losers.
How else could I explain the #1 station in my hometown playing 20 minutes of commercials an hour - while trumping competitors with half the inventory?
In college, I studied communication and political science (the art of communicating) and landed my first paying radio gig at my hometown station. I knew I had to be good to hold 'em through the 20 minutes of spots each hour.
I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning, but I vividly remember slipping Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up into cart deck 1 and the legal ID into cart-deck 2 and hearing my first liner over ramp. I hit the post like a pro. The rest, as they say, is history.
Since then I've lived in both northern and southern Florida, Reno, Salt Lake City, Milwaukee and Massachusetts. While moving has it's usual stresses, experiencing life in every time zone has it's benefits. Visiting the west - or Florida is one thing: but living there offers a whole new perspective.
Life is all about the experience - the ride.
I've put a few miles on my car!
